Don’t Be Ashamed Of Your Hustle
Looking at my resume, I realized that I did such a lot of jobs. I was a sales representative, a telemarketer, a technical support, a volunteer, a scheduling coordinator, a human resources assistant, a corporate administrative assistant, and well, I have too many job titles to mention haha. Currently, I am studying to become a financial advisor while doing part time, trying to freelance as well. I’ve always felt insecure about my career path because, compared to most of my peers where they have started their careers on the right track early on, me I’ve been jumping from one job to another. That’s why I was jealous of some of my peers who have stayed on their career path and now they are reaping the benefits of what they sowed years after. I turned bitter because I was a latebloomer and I felt like I was behind them in what I thought was a race to whom will be successful the soonest. Man, I was so wrong. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for them and their success. But I’m also glad I was able to realize that life is not a race, it’s a marathon. Your hustle or hustles in life doesn’t have to make you feel ashamed because this journey is not about your competition, it’s about you and how you will finish strong in this so called marathon. I don’t know about you, but I’m proud of my hustle. My career path may be unconventional or may not be traditional, but I learned a lot from my experiences which molded me into the well-rounded person I am today. Sure it may take a while for me to get to where I am supposed to be, but all roads will lead me to God’s purpose for my life eventually. So never be ashamed of your hustle. It’s part of the process and journey on your road to success.
